Eurotunnel FAQWhat facilities are
available onboard the train? The crossing
on the Eurotunnel train only takes 35 minutes so there are only toilets onboard the shuttle. Before
you board the Eurotunnel shuttle there is an option to shop at both the Folkstone and
Calais terminals. There are plenty of shops to chose from and if you are feeling peckish the are plenty of food outlets for the journey.
Are upgrades available? It is possible to upgrade your Eurotunnel ticket to a Flexiplus ticket which is a
fully amendable and fully refundable ticket and which entitles you to priority
loading and 1st Class lounge which has the added benefit of a comfortable seating area prior to getting
on the Eurotunnel shuttle.
Can I take my pets on the Eurotunnel train? Pets are
accepted but they must have a pet passport which involves them being chipped
with a microchip and they are vaccinated for rabies etc.
How long before
departure must I check in with Eurotunnel? It is half an hour
before departure at a minimum but they do advise a little longer if
possible.
Can I take a vanon the Eurotunnel train? Vans can be taken but
they CANNOT have an LPG gas tank. Freight bookings will be taken for commercial
vehicles. Any vehicle above 1.83 must be declared and booked in the single
storage compartments of the shuttle.
Can I travel whilst pregnant or sick? All passengers travel at their own discretion with Eurotunnel and must provide their own insurance bearing in mind there are no doctors onboard Eurotunnel trains to assist
them.
Am I able to amend my Eurotunnel tickets? If you do not
have a Flexiplus ticket they can still be changed but at an amendment fee which
is decided based on availability.
How long does the crossing take and where
do I go onboard? The Eurotunnel crossing only takes 35 minutes and you
stay in your car onboard unless you want to stretch your legs, then you can get
out. Foot passengers cannot travel on this crossing.
